Wilde Stories 2017; and, an anniversary

My nanny was one of my loudest cheerleaders. My first short story was accepted for publication in Freeze Frame Fiction just days after her cancer diagnosis, and breaking the news to her turned what could have been a difficult, sombre afternoon into something just as emotional but immeasurably happy. Last week, she would have turned 75; and today marks one year since her passing. She left far too soon and never had the chance to see what successes 2016 would bring for my writing.

So, the arrival of two things today is especially bittersweet.

Firstly, my paperback copy of Event Horizon 2017!

This is my first time in print — all my publications so far have been online  and I must say again that Shirtsleeve Press have done an incredible job with this anthology. The quality is superb and I can’t wait to get reading.

Secondly, I’m very proud to announce that “Das Steingeschöpf” will appear in Wilde Stories 2017 — a celebration of the best gay fiction of 2016, edited by Steve Berman and produced by Lethe Press! The cover and TOC were revealed today, and they are simply stunning.

That’s all for now — take care, and thanks for stopping by!
